Preview-Starcraft II : Heart Of The Swarm

Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm is an upcoming sequel to the Sci-Fi Real Time Strategy game Startcraft II: Wings of Liberty. The game is the second chapter of the Starcraft II trilogy, the third one being Legacy of the Void. The game will have approximately 20 new missions in the campaign featuring the Zerg race. Many new units and multiplayer changes are expected to be included in this expansion.

The events of the game will take place two years after Wings of Liberty, in 2506. Sarah Kerrigan, who has recently returned to her human state, will be the main protagonist and the anti-hero.  The campaign begins with Kerrigan’s quest to assume leadership of the swarm in her regained human form and exact her revenge on Arcturus Mengsk, Emperor of the Terran Dominion. The Zerg have split into several factions without her leadership, and she must take control of the various rival broods, headed by powerful queens, while General Warfield of the Dominion is attempting to eradicate the Zerg on Char.

Her is the video of the same:

Blizzard has announced 7 new units at the BlizzCon conference and also revealed about the removal of 3 existing units while making changes to the abilities of many other units in game. Changes as described at Blizzcon:
The Terran race was originally expected to feature two new units: the Shredder, and the Warhound. Internal testing revealed the Shredder was too flexible and powerful, and it was therefore cut. The Warhound is still being tested. The Thor will be changed to an “ultimate” unit, akin to the Protoss Mothership, limiting the player to having only one at any time. Its functionality is currently uncertain, although anti-air spider mines are currently being tested. The Hellion will have a new battle mode added, which allows it to transform into a heavier and more powerful unit. In battle mode the Hellion will do increased damage but in an arc in front of it instead of in a line. The Ghost will have its “Cloak” ability changed to be a one-time cost for a time-based duration rather than a constant energy cost over time. Reactivating “Cloak” while calling down a nuke will not interrupt the nuke strike. The Battlecruiser gains a “Redline Reactor” upgrade which acts as a cooldown-based speed boost. Lastly, the Reaper has its special building attack replaced by a passive health regeneration ability when out of combat.
The Protoss’ Replicant has been cut due to its tendency to stifle unit diversity, but the Oracle and Tempest remain as replacement to the Carrier and Mothership. The Oracle provides several abilities that are useful for economic harassment such as preventing mineral harvesting, granting vision of enemy buildings and stopping buildings from researching or producing. The Tempest’s role has changed since Blizzcon. While originally a capital ship designed to provide large amounts of air damage, it is now a long-range siege unit capable of hitting both the ground and air. The Mothership’s “Mass Recall” ability has been moved to the Nexus which will also gain an “Arc Shield” ability giving it some limited emergency defences.
For the Zerg, the Overseer has been re-added; the Viper and the Swarm Host also remain. The Viper has several abilities: a blinding ability which reduces the affected unit’s range to 1, “Abduct” pulls a unit to the Viper’s location, and the “Consume” ability allows the Viper to regain energy by siphoning minerals from any mineral patch. The Swarm Host still spawns a constant stream of slow-moving melee units called Locusts when burrowed. Ultralisks gain a “Burrow Charge” ability allowing them to quickly reach battle sites. Banelings will gain “Tunnelling Claws” similar to the Roach and the Hydralisk will have a researchable speed boost when travelling off-creep. Lastly, different types of Nydus worms are now planned. Some of the more effective worms that are being tested include ones that can quickly create a creep “highway,” and another that can attack enemy buildings.
The release date for the game hasn’t been announced yet, however, the beta testing is already underway and many gameplay videos have been released. By the looks of it, the game certainly seems promising. Starcraft has always been one of the finest games from Blizzard and is certainly one of the best (if not the best) RTS’s ever made. Hopefully, this title will be nothing less than legendary.

Now Get A 3D Look Of Your Google Map!

In a recently concluded conference, people at Google, Google Maps rather, came up with a couple of interesting things. Google Maps is going 3D which isn’t much of a surprise for ever since the talks of Apple dropping out Google Maps and implementing it’s own 3D maps came up.

Google Maps 3D, to put it simply, look absolutely stunning. The movement on the map is more like hovering through the entire city in a helicopter. As of now, Google Maps has gone 3D for a few cities around the globe but the idea is to regenerate each and every city and give every user a 3D experience of the city. The smoothness that was displayed and the regeneration that looked as good as real, makes us wonder where this technology is headed. Recreating each and every building in the city into 3D as amazing as it sounds is pretty difficult but technology has done it all!

Coming to some other interesting news, Google has also announced that Google Maps will be available offline, yes, you read that right. Google Maps will be available offline i.e. no net connection would be required while you are moving from one place to other. So if you are someone who stays in a country like India where signal issues arise right at those moments when you are trying to locate a certain place using Google Maps, it just got a hell lot easier for you.

Google Maps 3D will be available for both iOS and Android while the offline version of Google Maps will be available only on Android. That’s a pretty smart move is all we would say. Now that Google has revealed what it has to offer as far as 3D maps are concerned, it will be interesting to see what people at Apple come up with if and when they release their own 3D maps application. Given that WWDC is just round the corner, one can expect a quick counter from Apple.

Well, here is video of Google Maps conference .

The Blue Check : Men In Black 3 (Review)

The latest part of Men In Black movie released a couple of days go and we are here to give you the blue check on this flick. The last part of MIB movie was released way back in 2002 and after a gap of ten years the Men in black is back with a bang. The production house decided to retain their star cast comprising of Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones while adding Josh Brolin as the younger version of Agent K a.k.a Lee Jones while Jemaine Clement portrays Boris :The Animal".

A lot of time has passed in the MIB world and Agent J (Will Smith) has been doing a pretty good job rounding up all the aliens who step out of their line. One thing that continuously bothers him is about his partner K’s nonchalant attitude towards life. He is eager to find out but K refuses to pay any heed to him. Meanwhile Boris “The Animal” escapes out of Lunar Max, a prison built on moon ( these sort of innovations do liven up the audience!) and wants to go back in time and kill K for shooting his arm off 40 years ago. Boris succeeds in the first part of his plan by using a time travel to get in the past where he reunites with his former self. J soon follows him to save his partner’s life.

Despite the loopholes in the story, we would say that it was a rather amusing and an entertaining movie. We say loopholes because we have never been able to comprehend the concept of time travel. Coming to the good part, Will Smith was amazing. His comic timing remains remarkeble and because of his versatility, he finds a spot in the one of the finest actors of the modern world. And to top it all, he doesn’t seem to have aged a day! On the other hand, age does seemed to have worked it’s magic on Lee Jones. He looked old and tired for some reason or maybe that’s just what his character required. What was amazing was that they managed to find someone whom Jones would have resembled minus 40 years from now. Josh Brolin was the craftsman here. It must have taken a lot of burning-the-midnight-oil sessions to emulate Lee Jones they way he spoke or walked as Agent K.

The first act drags itself a tad but Brolin and Smith bring the movie alive with some intense action sequences and with some serious alien whooping! Also, a preliminary warning if you are going to the theatre with kids. It has some repugnant scenes in it as Boris “The Animal” has a very unusual companion.

The Blue Check would say that the movie was a King of Spade!

The Blue Final Check : 4 of 5 (King of Spade).

The Blue Check: Sony Xperia P (review)

Sony's latest smartphone creation is here again. Sony Xperia P was launched a few days ago and we are here to give you our blue check on this latest device.

Display: - 4.0 inch
Resolution:- 540 x 960 pixels which generates 275 ppi.
Processor:- Dual Core NovaThor U8500 clocked at 1 Ghz.
RAM: - 1 GB
Weight:- 120 g
Camera Back:- 8.0 MP
Camera Front:- VG
Battery:- 1305 mAh
Memory:- 16 GB
Amount:- 26000 INR

The device is also made up of uni body aluminum. It isn’t exactly uni body, but Sony claims it to be uni body because the back is made of a single piece of metal, never the less it feels very nice in the hands and like a premium device. The phone is 10.6mm thick, which may not be the thinnest around but the convex design makes the device easy to hold.

The 4.0 inch display of Sony Xperia P is different from all other devices in the market. Not only it’s powered by Sony’s Bravia Engine for mobile but it also features WhiteMagic technology. WhiteMagic technology makes sure that the device is viewable in the sunlight and yes it is effective. Of all the devices out there in the market, Xperia P manages to do the best job in direct sunlight. The display under Sunlight is even better than high end smartphones.

Xperia P has the same UXP NXT UI, which Sony introduced with Xperia S. We love the simplicity and ease of use of UI and Sony has done a good job in keeping things simple and beautiful, but the phone is still shipping with Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Sony has definitely missed the trick with ICS although they say the ICS update is around the corner, but its disappointing to see such a device running previous version of Android. The device packs NFC but there are no smart tags like the one found on Xperia S, so you’ll probably have to spend some buck to get them.

Messaging and contacts are well managed on the device. The 4.0 display and responsiveness of the screen makes typing on the device pretty easy. The browser on the phone is decent with handy pinch to zoom gestures.

The phone has the same transparent antenna like most of the devices from Xperia NXT series and three capacitive dots for home back and menu keys. Although we found them difficult to press, you’ll get used to them in a while.

Xperia P has an 8.0 MP camera with a VGA front facing camera for video calling. The camera performance is great as expected from a Sony smartphone. There’s even a dedicated camera key, which almost every manufacturer seems to have forgotten except Sony. The device can shoot in 1080p and the video quality is better than most of the smartphones out there.

So, should you buy the Xperia P? Well, apparently there’s a lot of good with the Xperia P. The display is amazing, camera quality is good and the built quality of the device is better than most of the smartphones in the wild. But there’s a lot to hate with the Xperia P too. The phone still ships with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, there’s no micro SD card slot with only 16 GB memory and the phone falls in the price range of 25000 INR, which is the same as Samsung Galaxy S II.

We wouldn’t recommend you to buy this device. Instead you should go for Galaxy S II, which is available around 26000 INR in the market. Although Galaxy S II was launched previous year, it still manages to beat Xperia P comfortably. With Micro SD card slot on board, the device already being updated to Android 4.0 ICS in India, Galaxy S II is a much better buy

Well we won't give it a Ace but still it's great look and camera have surely got our Jack of Spade ;).

The Blue Final Check : 3 of 5 (Jack of Spade).
